I have to say goodbye for now....

After much thought, I have decided to end my blog. It has been quite an experience and one that I shall not forget.
The main reason for starting this blog was to incorporate my scrapbooking into it, which I seemed to never get to.

The reason for that was I was totally hooked on the photography aspect of it all, and that was my main focus for quite some time.
I love to find those beautiful days and go out with the camera and loose all trace of time. Those were really the best times and
what I enjoyed the most.

Secondly, it has been such a pleasure meeting and talking with such nice people. I feel I know so many of you at this point !
This I shall miss very much. I have learned so much from all of you and the whole experience has been one of pure pleasure.

On the practical side, I spend way too may hours on this computer to the place where I think I am totally addicted to the
whole process and everything else has to wait. I am getting new windows in my home plus a few more repairs, and need to be paying attention to that at this time.

Lastly, due to so much sitting, I have good news .... I'm heading to the gym !

In any case, I will be around checking your blogs now and then. Thanks for your friendship, kindness and help in general.
All my best for a wonderful upcoming holiday.
Many thanks,
Connie

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL !

What a weekend !

I went to apply my car brakes yesterday, and the pedal went right to the floor. I just tapped the car in front of me and the man said it wasn't a problem. Ok, that sounded good, but why didn't my brakes work ? So it is now in my garage waiting for me to bring it in on Monday to see what's up. I just had new front brakes a few month's ago. Strange, huh ?
I have been going banana's here today as I can't drive and it's so quiet.
Last night I sat in this chair below and went through the archives of my pictures. There are not too many that I haven't scrapped especially any that were in one piece, not ripped or jagged. I got a template and decided to fill it and eliminate a few more pic's.
These are older and of my girls and various ages.

The one that I remember so well is the last one down on the left. Does anyone remember back when we were not allowed to wear jeans to school ? Well, my girls couldn't either until this style came in. It was like a dress over pants and somehow that was acceptable. My sister made my youngest her outfit. She loved to sew. 1 &2 in the upper right getting picture taken before wedding, and the bottom left. Youngest is cutting a birthday cake above and on the right was my dog, Bridget.

This is just an assortment of a large birthday party, my grandmother on top, me next, and someone said that was my father, but I don't think so. He is on the right with Mom. They were out at the lake and I remember it was a bit windy, but warm. Mr. Psi Phi below, was my husband ready for takeoff. (No, he loved the big bands music, big time.)

Then I finished up up a project I had been slow to finish. My tv center seemed to be too dark. I saw a picture in the Pottery Barn catalog and the back of it matched the wall color. So here is what extra time will do for you........

First, a coat of primer and waited until it dried. Really does it quickly. The repeat, and I let it dry
overnight.

Time for a thin coat of paint using a small roller. The I did a repeat with the roller again, and time for drying again.
Guess what ? It's finally done. Later, I put a very small molding all around the perimeter of the yellow part to give it a finished
look. You can't tell from the photo as I took these photo's at night and the lighting was poor.
Now, I let it set for a few days anyway, and I can decorate it for Christmas ! I might hang the picture of ''Home sweet Home"
above the tv to balance it out, or have a shelf made that would line up with the two top ones on either side. I get so picky with the balance thing.
So, how was your weekend ???

Here's the balance of Homearama

Thought you might like to see them.

The Music Room It looks so neat and orderly.

This looks like a little girl's room, doesn't it ?

One of the bedrooms.

The Dining Room

This looks like one of the Craftsman houses -- like Daisy Cottage ?

... and more.

Some you have seen, but by doing the collages, it helps cut down the number of pictures in my various places and get organized.

This is the restaurant I blogged about a while ago.

Ah, my favorite spot, especially in the summer. It looks a bit grungy these days.

Craft Co #6 is quite a store. It is in an old firehouse inn the artsy part of town. Everything has been renovated and it looks so neat down there now. They also do quite a business. http://www.craftcompany.com/ Check it out......

As you probably know by now, I have this thing about old stone fences and curved wooden bridges that usually cross over small streams. Don't you wonder who put this one together, and why did they build it in the middle of nowhere ? To me is fascinating.

Lastly, my lone pink flower. It just was in the middle of smaller flowers and looked like it would enjoy some attention.

A few collages

As usual I have been playing around and having fun. I would love to know more so I could do the code and make some myself.
There are so many talented people out there and each one has a different style. I love to seek them outl These are mostly from my backyard and cards and such that I have made.

These flowers are from my backyard. I was going to see what it would look like as a banner. Not exactly the right season, though. I just love the colors, don't you ?

Here are some cards I made a while ago. All are mine except for the card tree from Martha Stewart -- just love it.
In the far right is an album I did with just me and my friends. No kids or dogs in this one. Just all of us acting silly. Isn't
that what we do when we get together ? Great memories.
